Seal Permits Available for Some Front Longliners

DFO wishes to advise that trip permits for Harp Seals are now available for the operators of those longliners (vessels 35' - 64' 11") who paid their observer fees prior to April 13th, and have harvested less than 200 seals for the season.

The number of seals that may be harvested per permit will vary depending on the number harvested to date.

Permits may be picked up at DFO licensing centers tomorrow, May 4, 2007 during regular business hours.
