Harp Seal Fishery Re-Opening

DFO wishes to advise that the fishery for Harp Seals in sealing areas 4 to 7 and sealing area 12, will re-open to area 4 sealers, area 5 small boats, and area 6 small boats, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007.

Severe ice conditions extend over much of the sealing area and sealers are advised to excerise caution.  Sealers should note that due to continued efforts to free vessels beset in ice for extended periods of time, delays in icebreaking services are possible.
