Seal Fishery Update

DFO advises that the seal fishery for Harp and Hooded seals in sealing areas 4 to 7 and Area 12, Area 5 Small Boats and Area 4 Labrador Sealers, will close at 4:00 p.m. today, Monday, April 16, 2007

This fishery will remain closed for Front Longliners for the remainder of the season.

This fishery for Area 6 Small Boats will not re-open before April 20, 2007

The seal fishery for Newfoundland Gulf Longliners will also remain closed for the remainder of the season.
