Front Seal Fishery Re-opening

DFO advises that the seal fishery for Harp and Hooded seals, in sealing Areas 4 to 7 and Area 12, will re-open for Front Longliners, Area 6 Small Boats, and Area 7 and 8 Small Boats, at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007.

This fishery will close again at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007, to Front Longliners, and Area 6 Small Boats.

DFO expects that the quota for Front Longliners will be taken by closing time.

A decision regarding a re-opening for Area 6 Small Boats will be made on Monday.  The fishery for this fleet will not re-open before Tuesday, April 17, 2007 assuming there is sufficient quota remaining.

The fishery will remain open to Area 4 sealers, Area 5 small Boats and Area 7 and 8 Small Boats until further notice.
