The seal fishery will close at 7:30 p.m., Newfoundland Daylight Saving Time, Saturday, April 16, 2005 for all sealers residing in sealing areas 5 - 8, operating from vessels between 35' and 64'11", and to any sealer operating from a vessel less than 35' that has a sealer with a homeport in sealing area 6 onboard. DFO will compile catch information from the hail reports provided by sealers to determine if the fishery will re-open to these fleets on Sunday, April 17, 2005. Sealers will be advised through Notice to Fishers over Marine Radio, whether or not the fishery will re-open on Sunday. Sealers should provide their daily catch report as described in license conditions as soon as that information is available. |
