Gulf Seal Fishery Closing to Vessels greater than 35 feet.

DFO gives notice that the harp seal quota for vessels greater than 35 feet based in Sealing Areas 8 to 33 (Gulf of St. Lawrence) is about to be reached.

Pursurant to Variation Order 2005-Q-303 and to Notice of Closure set out in the licences issued under subsection 22(1) of the Fishery (General) Regulations, DFO advises that the harp seal hunt in seal fishing areas 4 to 33 will close to all licence holders residing in the Gulf of St. Lawrence (Sealing Areas 8 - 33) operating on vessels greater than 35 feet, as of 19h00 (AST), 19h30 (NST), April 2, 2005.
